2024-2025 Middle School Competitive Dance Season UPDATE

We are excited to share that we have revamped our Middle School Dance program options for the 2024-2025 year. All middle school students interested in participating in dance who are in grades 6th, 7th, and 8th need to attend our team audition dates. After auditions, dancers will be placed on the competitive team or the performance team.

There are three practice dates where dancers will learn and practice the audition piece. This will take place on September 16, 17, and 18 (Mon/Tues/Wed) from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Macatawa Bay Middle School in the Gym & Wrestling Room. The actual auditions of the piece they learned will take place on Friday, September 20th between 6pm and 8pm.

The competitive team will compete their routines learned (jazz, hip hop, and pom) at local competitions throughout Michigan. The performance team will perform their routines (pom and hip hop) locally for the public at different events (West Ottawa Basketball Games, Hope College Half Time Shows, WO Dance Friends & Family Day, etc.) There will be the possibility for dancers to be on both teams, if they desire after auditions.

A mandatory parent/participant meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 24th – time TBA. Team practices for both teams will begin that night as well.
