HollandTwpRec - Stay At Home Resources

Holland Township Parks & Recreation Departments have put together some valuable sources that we think highly of for our families & beyond to help kids stay active, involved and in the game from your own home!!

We will be sure to be in contact as things are constantly changing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Check out some of the opportunities below for drills, skill based learning, activities & online classes to keep your kiddos busy and engaged during this time at home. Please feel free to share this with anyone!!

1) Little League International has announced some Backyard Tips, drills & activities to help during this time of "Stay Home and Stay Active". There are Backyard Tips, Basic Introduction Skills Section, Tee Ball Drills, Softball Drills, Baseball Drills, and even some drills and skill videos from Professional Baseball players. Be sure to check it out -

2) The Outdoor Discovery Center launched a Backyard Learning Crusade for kids & adults to observe, explore, investigate, and learn more about their very own backyard. Check it out here -

3) Bricks for Kidz is offering online/ virtual courses for the remainder of the school year and possibly into the summer. These classes all following a STEM based learning program (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) and are very similar to an after school LEGO league. They are very minimal cost, some more expensive than other. There is something for everyone from beginner to advance lego builders. They are also offering some Scratch Coding Classes & Movie Making Classes for those that are interested in knowing how some animated LEGO movies were made. Check out the class offerings here -

4) Grand Rapids Kids have some fun resources for parents to print off for kids to remember this time in history. They have a 5-page and 11-page Quarantine Time Capsule 2020 this is a great option for kids to capture a snippet of life right now. They also have a "Lockdown Diary" that is a 28-page document created by an artist from New Zeeland. The hope was this would keep kids busy by completing one page a day for 4-weeks & it would also be a tool for parents to see how their kids were viewing things. Check their website out at -

We would love to see what your families are doing to keep busy during this time by tagging us on your social medias outlets & using our hashtag - #HollandTwpRec. Especially if you are doing any of the activities, drills, skills, classes, etc. listed above.
